One minute you’re hiking up trendy downtown streets lined with vibrant breweries and eclectic restaurants, and the next, on a winding path through a scenic state park or preserve.

Between our urban cities and natural wonders, there’s no limit to the things you and your family and friends can do in the NC Triad year-round. Come and be a part of the action!

Fun for the Entire Family

Brenner Children's Museum

An adventure takes on many forms in the Triad, where there are activities for kids and adults alike.

For high-flying fun, zip line over the treetops of the Uwharrie National Forest. Closer to the ground, join a city tour on Segway or bike.  Looking for something more kid-friendly? Cool off at one of our seasonal water parks featuring thrilling rides and kiddie attractions or stay dry and explore the area’s parks and gardens like the Greensboro Arboretum.

Take Up a New Sport (or Enjoy Your Favorite Hobby)

A visit to the Triad is the perfect opportunity to enjoy your favorite sport or learn something new.

Enjoy some of the best fishing around at Pilot Mountain State Park, where spotted bass and catfish await. For a leisurely day out, tee off at one of the area golf courses. And if you’re a rock-climbing novice or would like to learn the sport, there are various group tours you can join and state parks, such as Hanging Rock State Park, where you can go rock climbing.

If you need outdoor gear, local outfitters are ready to equip you with everything you and your squad need for a memorable excursion most any time of year.

Wine & Dine

Eating and drinking in the Triad can be just as exciting as climbing a mountain or hiking a trail. Find countless farm-to-table restaurants and crafty drinking establishments, plus plenty of dining space for the entire family to reunite after an outdoorsy day.

Nourish your stomach and soul at restaurants serving mouth-watering local cuisine in an outdoor or indoor setting. Find soulful comfort food, delectable barbecue, fresh seafood, and tasty sweets (Winston-Salem is home to the Moravian cookie trail that features a collection of bakeries).

One way to enjoy the local nightlife is on a bar crawl at our breweries, many of which are kid and pet-friendly. If a glass of fermented grape juice is your drink of choice, check out the area wineries and vineyards. There are also cideries and tasting rooms. Fill your cup with delicious drinks and unforgettable cuisine while in the Triad.
