After years of careful planning the vision of parkland amid a bucolic open landscape has become a reality. Heritage Farm Park, named in recognition of the rich agrarian roots of Oak Ridge, boasts 60 acres of mixed woodland and farmland seamlessly laced into areas providing recreational amenities and facilities. The park is a short walking distance from Town Hall and Oak Ridge Elementary School with Oak Ridge Town Park within close proximity as well. The site was originally a farm and the original garage remains standing proudly on the property.

With parking, paved walking trails, an inclusive playground, lighted multipurpose fields, restrooms and picnic shelters, Heritage Farm Park is a work in progress phasing in additional sports courts for the future. The park’s development was partially funded by an NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) matching grant to help defray construction costs. Also on site will be the Veterans Honor Green, a memorial dedicated to honoring members of our nation’s military forces. This memorial is being funded by generous donations with matching funds from the Town of Oak Ridge. The Honor Green is scheduled to be completed in fall 2024.

The park offers walking trails, multi-purpose fields, picnic shelters, two playgrounds, amphitheater, stocked pond with fishing dock, dog park, mountain bike trails, and open grassy areas adequate to hold large community activities and events.

This is a great place for family fun, birthday parties and Youth Groups.
