Greensboro KOA campground is easily accessible to many of the Triad’s outdoor amenities as well as the City of Greenboro’s entertainment and recreation options. The site has cabins available, tent sites, can host RVs and campers, and is family-friendly, with walking trails, a pool, and games. The campground is also a short distance down I-40/i-85 from Greensboro’s museums, galleries, sports, and live music.

Nat Greene Trail (3.6 miles) is one of the oldest and most popular of the City’s watershed trails. It winds through diverse mixed hardwoods and pines along the watershed buffer of Lake Brandt’s southeast edge. Wildflowers and running cedar adorn the trail as it meanders around the coves of Lake Brandt. Explore the trail from Lake Brandt Marina and learn about the plant and tree diversity on the interpretive signs interspersed along the trail. A 400-foot boardwalk near the Old Battleground Road trailhead allows hikers to cross mud flats and bogs where Horse Pen Creek feeds into Lake Brandt.

Barber Park in Greensboro is a huge city park that features a playground, a splash pad, an indoor sports complex, a baseball field, and 6 picnic shelters and is sure to please all families and kids. The sports pavilion houses eight plexi-court tennis courts and four combination basketball/volleyball courts, all open for play year-round. The park also offers hiking and biking trails, and an 18-hole disc golf course is available!

Lake Daniel Park is located in Greensboro, NC and consists of about 80 acres of land. This park contains a playground, a tennis court, a full size basketball court, and a trail to walk along. The park trail is a part of the greenway and is a 1-mile round trip. This trail offers great views as it stretches alongside the creek.

The Downtown Greenway is located in Greensboro. It is a 4-mile multi-use, paved urban trail loop, complete with pollinator gardens, play spaces, micro parks, public art, and more that highlight surrounding neighborhoods and Greensboro’s history. Parking is available at three locations: Meeting Place at Tradition Cornerstone (801 West Smith Street); Woven Works Park (401 Cumberland Street); Morehead Park (475 Spring Garden Street).

Whether you’re hiking or biking, the Owl’s Roost Trail (4.3 miles) promises a good workout. Voted the “best urban mountain biking trail” in the country by Bicycling Magazine, in 2003. The dips, twists, turns, and hops on the Owl’s Roost Trail make it a regional favorite for single-track riding. This trail is rugged compared to some of the other watershed trails and is the most technical ride in the system. The additional 1.3 miles of old fire lanes that have been converted to trails add an extra benefit to the trail.
