Carolina Heritage specialize in organically raised and handpicked from their 9 acres of hybrid and muscadine wine grapes and their 1.5 acres of blueberries to produce naturally delicious wines. They do not use any animal by-products of grains in the production of our wines resulting in wines which are vegan friendly and gluten free.

Carter Falls trail is a 1-mile loop trail in Elkin with a beautiful waterfall view half-way along the trail. Carter Falls is located on Big Elkin Creek.

Crater Park is located adjacent to the Yadkin River and convenient to downtown Elkin. Amenities at the park include a playground, softball field, open-space, restrooms and river access ramp to the Yadkin River. Crater Park is connected with walking trail, bike lane and sidewalk to the Elkin Municipal Park. Primitive camping is available for river users only as an overnight stop on the Yadkin River Trail.

The new Elkin Creek Mountain Bike Trail includes 5 miles of trials, following the hills and hollers of the Elkin Creek. Access the trail in the Elkin Municipal Park near the Elkin Recreation Center.

The site of an historic grist mill built in 1896 and gracing a special spot where two creeks join together to become one, Elkin Creek Vineyard is a one-of-a-kind destination. They are currently open for special events only.

Adagio is a musical term meaning “slowly with passion.” The property for the main vineyard was purchased in 2005 and is a mile away from the winery/tasting room at an elevation of 1300 ft. Grapes were first planted in 2009 and again in 2012, while the “baby vineyard” was added next to the winery in 2014. There are 7 acres total including varietals Arandell, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Traminette and Chardonnay. They have a 2400 sq/ft tasting room is built above the 3000-sq.ft. winery which is underground for controlled temperature and humidity. Their award-winning wines are named with musical terms which depict their origin, composition or sensory characteristics. They currently offer 10 wines – red and white varieties. The Tasting Room also provides a showcase for Jan’s violins and violin making. They also do special events.
