<p>Located in Dobson on the banks of the picturesque&nbsp;Fisher River, Surry County&#8217;s Fisher River Park offers a wide variety of outdoor activities.&nbsp; Fisher River Park provides an array of playing fields. The park features one baseball field and two softball fields, one regulation soccer field, and one pee wee soccer field. Also available is a volleyball court, basketball court, and a horseshoe pit. In addition, a 1/4 mile paved walking trail and a challenging mountain bike trail are also offered. For those who wish to simply relax and enjoy the outdoors, Fisher River Park offers several picnic shelters for large and small groups. An amphitheater is also located in the park, and for the kids, the park provides two playgrounds for children of all ages. Paddle access to the Fisher River is also available.</p>

In the late 1990’s Van Coe started planting grapes (5.25 acres): Cabernet, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Niagra. The tasting room and winery opened in 2004 and today there are 10 acres of vines and now includes Merlot, Chambourcin, Viognier, Arandell, and Corot Noir. They also have the Stony Knoll Vineyards Wine Lodge (an original structure built in 1850 &#8211; renovated cabin) that sleeps 5 guests.</p>
