City Park offers more than 75 acres of activities for the entire family. It serves as the home of an amusement area, one only a handful of municipally operated in the state. A fully restored Dentzel Carousel is the highlight of the amusement area. As part of the National Historic Register, the carousel attracts thousands of visitors yearly. Throughout the spring and summer, the park comes alive with events, concert series, and baseball and softball tournaments. The park is located one mile from Downtown Burlington on South Church Street.

North Carolina’s first cooperative brewery and restaurant with the aim of securing a shared network of local and regional partnerships made up of farmers, producers, and service professionals.

The Arboretum at Willowbrook Park in Burlington features a wide, paved walking path that meanders the length of this 17-acre park. The arboretum is full of plant collections including daylilies, hostas, azaleas, roses, hydrangeas, camellias, wetland gardens and more. A creek runs through the park with a wide vegetation buffer brimming with native plants and grasses that provide habitat for wildlife and filters stormwater runoff protecting the water quality of the creek.

Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina was developed in 1993 and is the primary water reservoir for the citizens of Burlington. It covers over 1150 acres and has a shoreline of 61 miles. The lake is fed by two tributaries, the Greater Alamance and Little Alamance Creeks. These creeks have been the primary source of stocking fish for the lake. Kayak and rowboat rentals are available, along with picnic sites, playgournd, fishing pier and boat ramps. Because the lake is the primary water reserve for the City of Burlington, no swimming, wading or personal watercraft is permitted on the lake.

Burlington BMX is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer-run bicycle motocross track located in Burlington, North Carolina, adjacent to the Burlington Sock Puppets ballpark. Open to riders of all ages, BMX events are sprint bicycle races held on off-road, single-lap racetracks. (Riders pedal through the course, there are no motors in BMX.) This fast, action-packed sport is sanctioned under USABMX. The BMX season runs from March through early December, weather permitting.

The Haw River Trail is a 70-mile long multi-use trail following the path of the Haw River from Haw River State Park to Jordan Lake State Recreation Area.  For over half of that stretch, the Haw River Land Trail will combine with the statewide Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Visit over 20 species up close on an educative tour across a 0.75 mile path. Engage with wildlife safely while supporting a movement to educate people, care for animals, and advocate for species.

Joe C. Davidson Park in Burlington is primarily focused on soccer and baseball, but the park also features a wonderful handicapped-accessible playground, 0.75 mile walking track with 0.33 mile wooded nature trail, tennis/pickleball courts and the large Kiwanis Club outdoor picnic shelter available for rentals.

The park features regulation fields for baseball, softball and soccer, two concession buildings with restrooms, two picnic shelters available to rent, a playground, an extensive paved walking track and a disc golf course. The Springwood Players’ Disc Golf Course is an 18 hole, championship-level disc golf course. It includes a six-hole ‘Rookie Run’ for beginners and family fun.
