<p>City Park offers more than 75 acres of activities for the entire family. It serves as the home of an amusement area, one only a handful of municipally operated in the state. A fully restored Dentzel Carousel is the highlight of the amusement area. As part of the National Historic Register, the carousel attracts thousands of visitors yearly. Throughout the spring and summer, the park comes alive with events, concert series, and baseball and softball tournaments. The park is located one mile from Downtown Burlington on South Church Street.</p>

<p>Lake Mackintosh Park &amp; Marina was developed in 1993 and is the primary water reservoir for the citizens of Burlington. It covers over 1150 acres and has a shoreline of 61 miles. The lake is fed by two tributaries, the Greater Alamance and Little Alamance Creeks. These creeks have been the primary source of stocking fish for the lake. Kayak and rowboat rentals are available, along with picnic sites, playgournd, fishing pier and boat ramps. Because the lake is the primary water reserve for the City of Burlington, no swimming, wading or personal watercraft is permitted on the lake.</p>
