The Maynard Aquatic Center (MAC) in Burlington is a year-round facility featuring a large heated pool with both recreational and competition areas. A walk-in ramp provides easy access and a frog slide offers lots of kiddie fun. During the summer season, the side panels enclosing the pool area are removed, and the pool converts to an outdoor facility with a roof to shield swimmers from the sun.

Joe C. Davidson Park in Burlington is primarily focused on soccer and baseball, but the park also features a wonderful handicapped-accessible playground, 0.75 mile walking track with 0.33 mile wooded nature trail, tennis/pickleball courts and the large Kiwanis Club outdoor picnic shelter available for rentals.

Central Carolina Gun Club is a non-profit, outdoor range located in Alamance County North Carolina.

This short, flat-water stretch of river is perfect for beginning paddlers. The one-mile section of river is backed-up by the Glencoe Dam, meaning there is little or no current under normal conditions and nearly always enough water, even on dry summer days. The river is accessible from either Indian Valley Paddle Access or Great Bend Park and a round-trip is possible from either location. Both accesses require carrying the boats a short distance, but the Indian Valley Paddle Access is closer to the parking area. Restrooms are available in the Great Bend Park parking area or in the clubhouse at Indian Valley Golf Course, across the street from the paddle access.

Cedarock Park is a 500-acre park located in southern Alamance County offering 6 miles of hiking and equestrian trails, 2 disc golf courses, a footgolf course, a historical farm restored to the late 1800s time period, 2 fishing ponds, a picturesque waterfall over an old mill dam, picnic shelters and gazebos, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a playground, canoe and kayak rentals, camping, and ample field space for open play.

North Park in Burlington is home to the Mayco Bigelow Community Center. North Park has a softball field, outdoor basketball courts, 0.25 mile walking track, two open-air shelters with picnic tables, two playgrounds, the Sertoma indoor shelter. The park is also home to the North Park Pool and North Park Farmers Market.

City Park offers more than 75 acres of activities for the entire family. It serves as the home of an amusement area, one only a handful of municipally operated in the state. A fully restored Dentzel Carousel is the highlight of the amusement area. As part of the National Historic Register, the carousel attracts thousands of visitors yearly. Throughout the spring and summer, the park comes alive with events, concert series, and baseball and softball tournaments. The park is located one mile from Downtown Burlington on South Church Street.

Burlington BMX is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer-run bicycle motocross track located in Burlington, North Carolina, adjacent to the Burlington Sock Puppets ballpark. Open to riders of all ages, BMX events are sprint bicycle races held on off-road, single-lap racetracks. (Riders pedal through the course, there are no motors in BMX.) This fast, action-packed sport is sanctioned under USABMX. The BMX season runs from March through early December, weather permitting.
