Dispersed Camping

Badin Lake Recreation Area, Uwharrie National Forest

Want to go camping and really get away from civilization? Dispersed camping is a great way to get some space to yourself! Primitive campsites are typically free and offer a more rugged experience. Just be sure to come prepared, these campsites offer little to no amenities, so you will need to pack in all of your food, water, and supplies, and you will need to be sure to pack out all of your trash when you leave! The region offers lots of primitive campsites throughout its parks, most of which are free to use.
