Dan River

 

The Dan River crosses the North Carolina and Virginia border eight times on its 214-mile journey from the Blue Ridge Mountains to Kerr Lake. The 90 miles of the river in Surry, Stokes and Rockingham Dan River State Trial LogoCounties were authorized as a state paddle trail in 2021.  The table below lists the public paddle access points from Jessup’s Mill in Stokes County to the Milton Boating Access in Caswell County.  For more information, check out the Dan River Basin Association.
